Sister Act Issy and Jess MacDonald and Dylan Cook from Bungay and Waveney Valley Golf Club qualified along with 30 other club teams from 30 different English counties to compete in this 36 hole two day event at Spalding Golf Club this week. The Bungay team were co-leaders overnight alongside Easthampstead (Berkshire) with 85 points; the two best stableford scores from three counted on each day. Jess (26 PH) made 5 pars and a birdie and Issy (6 PH) impressed also with 11 pars and a birdie.
An outstanding performance on the 2nd day from Easthampstead’s Elinior Sleigh (13 PH), consisting of an Eagle, 3 birdies and 10 pars (49 stableford points) saw Bungay finish 2nd overall having scored 71 points. The 156 points achieved by the Bungay team was the highest scored by a Suffolk team in the history of this event.
