Lottie Whyman (Ipswich) was declared the winner of the Junior Matchplay Final which should have taken place at Bury St Edmunds on Wednesday (28th August). Unfortunately, when the day came, Eloise Aldous (Newton Green) was not well enough to play so, according to the rules of the competition, the match went to Lottie.
This is hard luck on both girls who would have been looking forward to the game, but rules are rules and doubtless they will play against each other plenty of times in the future. Well done to them for getting this far and congratulations to Lottie on a very successful Junior career. Next year she moves up to join the adult ranks.
