The final day at Wensum was bathed in glorious sunshine, a relief after the rains of Monday and the Winds of Tuesday: Suffolk and Norfolk led with 5 points each and Essex menaced on 4. Suffolk played Herts in the morning and lost their only game of the competition 2 – 4. Norfolk also lost 1 – 5 to Essex which meant the afternoon began with Essex leading by 1 point. The Suffolk Juniors bounced back after lunch with a 4.5 – 1.5 win over Bedfordshire and prayed that Cambs and Hunts would steal a draw from Essex, but that was not to be; Essex secured the 2 points they needed with a 4 – 2 win. Congratulations to Essex who thoroughly deserved the win.
