The County Championship was held at Bungay on Sunday in some chilly and blustery weather. Alice Barlow retained the title and Mia Barningham, who joined the county last year, won the Nett. The greens were in excellent condition and the new bunkers and OB markers proved a challenge.
Bungay were fabulous hosts once again, and the County are very grateful to them for providing us with weekend tee times.
I would like to thank Sheila Boath and Mary Stevenson for all their hard work setting up the competition and for their administration on the day. Thank you also to, our President, Carol Deslandes for starting the players and for supporting throughout the day. Barbara Dennis did a stalwart job providing snacks and drinks for the players at the half-way hut, thank you Barbara.
Thank you also to our referees for enduring the cold on such a long day, Jeff Deslandes, Jenny Aston and Sue Lockwood.
