East Herts Golf Club

Our second Anglian League match of the season against Hertfordshire was held on a beautifully sunny day at East Herts Golf club. Large undulating greens with tricky pin positions added to the challenge of the day.
With two of our best players missing, it was down to the very experienced Vicki Hunt to lead out the team. She did not disappoint and brought home our first point with a very impressive 3&2 win. The second and third matches were well contested but went the way of Hertfordshire. Gillian Smith came up against an East Herts member who’s home advantage proved too great to overcome. With two matches left out on the course it was all to play for. Ann Fosker stayed patient and finally drew ahead on the last two holes. Rachel Goldsmith put in a putting master class to take control of her game and bring home the point needed to secure an overall halved match. To draw away from home is always a satisfying. Well played team.
