DIVISION DATES AND VENUES 2026

DIVISION 4 -Stableford 32.0 and above at Rushmere Golf Club on Sunday 26th April 2026

DIVISION 3 – Stableford 22.0 to 31.9 at Royal Worlington & Newmarket GC on Sunday 3rd May 2026

DIVISION 2 – Medal 14.0 to 21.9 at Ufford Park GC on Saturday 26th September 2026

Players can enter with an HI of up to 23.1 but must play off a maximum HI of 21.9

DIVISION 1 – Medal up to 13.9 at Felixstowe Ferry  GC on Sunday 20th September 2026

Players can enter with an HI of up to 15.1 but must play off a maximum HI of 13.9

9 Hole Competition – Stableford (for new players or ladies who normally do 9 holes)

2026 Division 3 Meeting

The Division 3 meeting was held at Royal Worlington, and the weather gods were with us – a lovely Spring Day with no rain.

The course was dry and “links” like with dips and banks that couldn’t be seem and the greens were very challenging; the scores for the day reflecting how “tricky” the course was found to be!

Jill Dale from Seckford was the winner of the Silver Quaich with a blistering 32 Stableford points, with Chris Kilgallen from Bramford just missing out with a score of 31 Stableford points.

The 3rd Division Team Shield was won by Bramford (Jo Brown, Marianne Hall, Chris Kilgallen) with a total of 88 Stableford points with the team from Seckford coming in 2

 A huge thankyou to the team at Worlington who made us feel so welcome – the food was excellent and most welcome after our endeavours!

2026 Division 4 Meeting

The weather gods could not have been kinder for the Division 4 meeting held at Rushmere Golf Club on Sunday

26th  April 2026; for ladies with handicaps of 32 and above and  26 ladies from 9 clubs took part.

Lyn Martin from Ipswich Golf Club mastered the challenging course and came in with a magnificent 45 Stableford points to secure her name on the Olive Carruthers Cup.

The Division 4 Shield – the best 3 scores added together from ladies from one club was won by Bramford (Karen Forbester, Nikki Ruffles and Gabby Green) with an overall team score of 118

Our grateful thanks to Rushmere for hosting the event – there are not enough superlatives to describe the welcome and service extended to our ladies on the day by both the ladies’ section and staff – it was exemplary!

2025 Division 1 Meeting

35 ladies played in the Division 1 meeting at Ipswich Purdis Heath on Saturday 27th September 2025.  The course was in great condition, the greens were fast and, despite a cool zephyr of a breeze, the sun shone for most of the day, making ideal playing conditions

The Gross Winner and winner of the Sybil Green Trophy  was Abbie Symonds of Ipswich with gross 79. Tina  Jeary from Flempton came 2nd with 80.  The nett prize went to Trudy Read from Fynn Valley with a magnificent net 69 with  Viv Leach from Halesworth taking second place with 74.  The Challenge Shield  (a team prize for the best three gross scores from one club) was won by  Ipswich 243 points (Abbie Symonds Josie Knights and Vanessa Bell)

Thank you  goes to Ipswich for hosting the competition, Sheila Boath for starting and running the day,  and to Mary Stevenson, competition organiser, for all her hard work behind the scenes. We look forward to welcoming the competitors to Felixstowe Ferry Golf Club on 20th September 2026.

2025 Division 3 Meeting

In perfect summer conditions, the Division 3 Meeting was held at Brett Vale GC on Sunday 11th May. 33 Ladies from 9 different clubs contested this stableford competition for players in the 22 to 31.9 handicap index range.
The winner of the Silver Quaich Trophy was Sheila King from Brett Vale with 40 points.
Runner up was Karen Hoskins from Seckford with 38 points on count back, with Yvonne Southey, also from Seckford coming third.
The Belstead Shield was won by Seckford.
Congratulations ladies and so many “thank you”s to Brett Vale GC for helping to make this such an enjoyable day.

2025 Division 4 Meeting

The Division 4 meeting was held at St Audrys Golf Club on Saturday 26th April, when 30 ladies, representing 9 clubs, played. Division 4 is for ladies of handicap index of 33 to 54, and the 9 hole course at St Audrys was enjoyed by all the ladies playing.The weather was glorious – bright sunshine but with a bit of nip in the easterly wind – and the course was in lovely condition,. It was a really beautiful place to be in the Spring Sunshine. St Audrys made us all very welcome, and huge thanks to the manager, the members and the green staff for all the work they did to help the day run smoothly.
The winner of the magnificent Olive Carruthers Cup was Lynne Braybrooke from Fynn valley with a magnificent 38 points (playing off a course handicap of 49.2)

Division 1 Meeting

The Division 1 Meeting was held at Thorpeness Golf Club on Saturday 28th September. It was very well supported, with 41 ladies playing on the day, finishing with a roast dinner afterwards.  The course was in great condition, with the greens rolling beautifully and the food was excellent.

It is the first time the Division 1 meeting has been played at a weekend, with over 60 ladies initially entering the competition, but with only 12 tee times available, some ladies withdrew and the closed by date was rigidly enforced. Next year the Division 1 meeting will be held on Saturday 13th September at Ipswich Golf Club.

The weather was warm and sunny and the Thorpeness staff were extremely helpful. Special thanks to Dan Skriabin the Club Professional and Golf Director, and all the staff on the course and in the hotel who helped make the day run smoothly.

2024 Division 2 Meeting

The Division 2 meeting was held on Sunday 22nd September at Hintlesham Golf Club. 28 ladies played representing 13 clubs. Starting at 1pm the weather was warm and dry for most of the round, with spots or rain as the final groups came in.

Our thanks to all the team at Hintlesham, particularly Karen Perridge the ladies’ representative and the catering and office staff who were all very helpful and attentive. The food was excellent and went down really well!
Next year we hope to hold the Division 2 meeting at Newton Green details will be on website shortly.

Division 2 Results

Thank you all for playing today in the particularly challenging windy conditions and congratulations to the winners.  You all deserve a medal for finishing!

A huge thank you to Halesworth for hosting the Division 2 Meeting this year.  There were many helpers who made us feel extremely welcome.  Ian Stannard (Starter), Rita Fossey, Viv Leech, Ged Moreton, Bob Moreton (Ball Spotters), Karol Purley (Meet and Greet), Karen Forster (IT Expert/Scoring), Ellie Andrews and her team for Catering helped by Beth and Daisy and last but not least Sara Higgins, Lady Captain of Halesworth who assisted with everything and made my job so easy!

Well done to everyone for supporting the SLCGA.  Next year Division 2 is at Hintlesham on Sunday 22nd September 2024.
