Womens Championships
In the Women’s Championships, Jasmine Points from Bury St Edmunds became the new East Region Champion for 2026 continuing Suffolks run of East Champions. A 3 over par in the morning left Jasmine with some work to do after joint Leaders Josie Knights(Ipswich) & Katy Yates(Clacton) both shot level par. However, Jasmine took this all in her stride, and proceeded to shoot a 7 under par, which was declared a new course record at South Beds. A bogey free round consisting of 5 birdies and an eagle. Congratulations to Jasmine on her fantastic scoring!
Alice Barlow(BSE) came in third place with scores of +2 and +4, followed by Josie Knights in 5th place with scores of Level and +9, and Shannon Noble(Ipswich) with scores of +5 and +7. Shannon Noble also won the best morning Nett Score.

Junior County Match Days 2026

5th–7th August 2026 | Fynn Valley Golf Club

The 2026 Junior County Match Day took place from 5th–7th August, hosted by Suffolk at Fynn Valley Golf Club.

The format consisted of six singles matchplay matches, played off scratch, with the girls going out in handicap order.

The first round of matches began on Wednesday afternoon, when Suffolk faced Essex. It was a very closely fought afternoon, with three matches going all the way to the last hole. Unfortunately, Suffolk lost the overall match 4–2, but the girls showed great determination and competed extremely well.

On Thursday morning, Suffolk played Hertfordshire and came away with an excellent 4–2 victory against a very strong county.

The afternoon saw us take on Cambridgeshire & Huntingdonshire, where the girls continued their strong performance with an impressive 5–1 win.

Friday morning brought another very close contest against Norfolk. The girls showed tremendous resilience to secure a narrow 3½–2½ victory.

Our final match of the event was against Bedfordshire. Once again, it went right down to the wire, with Suffolk eventually losing by the narrowest of margins, 3½–2½.

These results saw Suffolk finish in a fantastic third place overall. Congratulations to the winners, Essex, who remained unbeaten throughout the tournament.

The girls played brilliantly throughout the event, particularly on what was a tricky, dry course at Fynn Valley. There were some fantastic individual performances, and congratulations must go to Imogen and Abi, who remained unbeaten throughout all their matches — a fantastic achievement.

A huge thank you to Fynn Valley Golf Club for hosting the event. They went above and beyond to help us throughout the three days, and their support was greatly appreciated.

And, last but by no means least, a massive thank you to all the Suffolk Ladies who helped make the event run so smoothly. Your time, organisation and support were invaluable and helped make the week such a success.

Well done to all the girls for representing Suffolk so brilliantly. You should all be very proud of your performances!
