In incredibly warm conditions on a beautiful autumn day, 37 ladies from the SLPPC Society took part in the golf after the AGM preceded by a very welcome bacon roll. The format was teams of 4 with best 2 scores on all the par 3s, and best 3 scores on all the other holes. Additional to that there was a Nearest the Pin and a Longest Drive. It was actually so warm and sunny that some of us were regretting putting away our summer golf umbrellas which work so well in keeping us cooler.

Stowmarket did us proud. The fairways are recovering well after the dry summer. The only issue as some of us aren’t used to having to play off grass anymore so that was challenging! The catering was superb and a light meal was enjoyed after the golf.

Winners on the day were Di Heggarty, Jane Bell, Caroline Emeny and Kathy Holmes coming in with 104 stableford points. Jane played a phenomenal front half getting 23 points and was deemed the secret weapon when the results were announced. In 2nd place was Heather Beynon, Sue Fraenzel, Janet Hodge and Lesley Barnes with 98 points, and 3rd was Bev Gray, Tina Daubney, Carol Perks and Ros Clement with 96 points. Longest Drive was won by Vicki Hunt, and Nearest the Pin was Caroline Emeny.
