Division 4 – Olive Carruthers Cup

A hearty congratulations must go to all 18 ladies who bravely turned up and played in the 2019 Division 4 Competition at The Suffolk on Wednesday 8th May. What a day! It started raining at about 7 am and did not stop – apart from a few brief interludes – all day.  And it poured! Ten ladies retired to the warmth of the club house after 9 holes  while the remaining eight hardy ones continued the battle with the elements and completed the full 18 holes.

The results were as follows:

2^nd          Shirley Byrne                     The Suffolk

3^rd           Carol Deslandes                Felixstowe Ferry

4^th           Gill Self                                 Seckford

And the Team Shield was won by the Suffolk:

Our thanks to June Smart, Lady Captain at the Suffolk for making us so welcome and to her ladies who went out in the dreadful weather to ball spot and fish balls out of lakes!  All in all a great day, but not so great weather.
