Eight of the Suffolk squad travelled to Aldeburgh on Sunday for their first game of the season against Aldeburgh men; the friendly was played off scratch and the red tees.
Roger Taylor (3.4) said he had been playing the fixture for 50 years: all the players appreciated the privilege of playing in a match steeped in tradition.
The alterations on the course are heading towards summer completion and look stunning – the roast dinner and deserts lived up to hyped expectation.
A big thank you to Aldeburgh for hosting us so graciously, once again. Next February’s match could well be the highlight of our team calendar!
