Suffolk began their Anglian League campaign with an excellent win over their Essex opponents. Aldeburgh golf club proved a great test of golf, with fast running greens and beautiful fairways and the added challenge of high winds.
Sharon Luckman, leading the team out, showed all her experience, played extremely well to post an impressive win over Essex Captain Julie Finegan. Following closely behind, team mates Lynne Barrett and Rachel Goldsmith both won convincingly.
There were losses for Pippa Neall and Ann Fosker, leaving the final match on the course.
Playing the last 1 down, Gillian Smith showed all her strength and composure to win the last and secure the all needed half a point. With both teams looking on it showed great strength of character.
