Georgia Parker, who plays for the Junior County Second team, continues to return good competition scores playing a   round the County.  She won the Captain’s Weekend Stableford at her home club, Bury St Edmunds, with an excellent  score of 40 points and then travelled to Woodbridge for the Junior Open (24th August).

Georgia is congratulated for winning the Captain’s Weekend Stableford by Bury St Edmunds Captain, David Kerswell.

If you remember Monday, the day in question, the rain was torrential and no doubt there wasn’t a cat in Suffolk who put a paw outd oors.  Georgia won the Girls competition with 33 points, a score that would have given her third spot in the overall competition.  Her prize was a golf bag and balls and then she tucked away a cap which rewarded her for the longest drive.

Earlier in the year she was the overall winner at Southwold Junior Open, girls’ winner at Waldringfield and Division winner at Haverhill in the Schools Western Area Championships.  Great going! Georgia’s handicap is no doubt coming down and we wish her and all Suffolk’s junior golfers much enjoyment in the process of improving their game. Georgia’s Dad let us know what she’d been up to and, if the rest of you have any golfing news, we’d like to hear it.  Our address is given at the top of the page.
